STEP back in time and enjoy an evocative ride through the heart of Brontë country as part of our exclusive new series, Yorkshire's Great Rail Journeys
Steam trains have been hauling themselves from Keighley to Haworth, up the Worth Valley's steep gradient, since 1867.

The sound of an engine tackling the climb echoes from the valley walls, while great clouds of steam and smoke add to a thrilling atmosphere.
Many of the woollen mills which once stood by are gone, but a few remain - reminders of a textile industry that helped create the line.
During the Industrial Revolution the mills depended on the tons of coal brought by the railway each week, keeping the looms weaving. The five mile journey is a powerful reminder of Yorkshire's heritage and a unique way of enjoying the beautiful countryside immortalised by Charlotte, Emily and Anne Bront.
The line was closed in 1962, but the enthusiasts of what became the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway rescued it. Since then it has been immortalised in the film of The Railway Children and many other productions, assuring its future as a popular tourist attraction.
So why not step aboard and join us for a trip on this unique national treasure.
Steam trains run every day during August. Visit www.kwvr.co.uk to find out more.
