Video Picture Post: Whitby, Goathland and Staithes

A stunning video picture postcard from the east coast jewel of Whitby, and its inland neighbour Goathland.

There has always been a timeless quality about Whitby. The fishing industry on which the town was built may not be as vibrant or lucrative as it once was, but the boats remain and visitors still flock to the picturesque resort with its working harbour.

Whitby's history is peppered with influential and colourful figures. Captain James Cook has long held the title of the area's most famous son and along with the likes of Bram Stoker, who based much of his novel Dracula in the town, and Lewis Carroll, who was similarly inspired, the tales of Whitby's past are endless. Times have changed, yet the allure of Whitby has remained frozen in time.
