Visitors can discover Yorkshire city
A DISCOVER Ripon day is to be held on Saturday July 11 when visitors will have the chance to see the city's collection of silver and learn more about other aspects of the community.
Guided tours of the Cathedral and entry to the Courthouse and Prison and Police Museums are among events which are being combined with Ripon Independents' Day celebrating the variety of independent businesses.
Ripon Grammar School Band will play on the Square and there will be children's activities.
Tickets for the Cathedral tour and two museums are 5 for adults with children free. They will be sold on the Market Square from 10.30am. A limited number of tickets will also include the Silver Talks which are being held at 11.15am and noon. The Cathedral tours are hourly between 11.30 am and 2.30pm.
Ripon City Manager Eamon Hannaway said: "For the last three years Discover Ripon Day has proved that the city can attract lots of people who are keen to find out what our city has to offer.
"The City Partnership is pleased to have joined forces with the Independent Traders' Association for this year's event, which promises once again to be a day of fun for everyone, with some surprises along the way."
