Warm weather helped to boost the number of visitors on the opening day of Selby Game Fair.
Thousands of people enjoyed an array of attractions at the start of the annual event at Carlton Towers, Goole, yesterday.
One of the organisers, Karen Wilebore, said: “Our numbers are up on the last few years for a Friday. The good weather has helped to boost the numbers.”
One section in particular enjoyed record numbers of participants and spectators.
Miss Wilebore said: “It is the biggest number they have ever had through the Flyball section. It was the biggest number of entries and visitors in all the years they have been running it.”

Visitors continued to flock through the gates of Carlton Towers, the ancestral home of the Duke of Norfolk, well into the late afternoon.
They were treated to a host of attractions including gun dogs, archery, clay pigeon shooting, birds of prey displays and helicopter rides.
The fair also includes a “kiddies zone”, licensed bar and food hall as well as numerous trade and craft stands.
Selby Game Fair runs over the Bank Holiday weekend up to and including Easter Monday.
