Woman treated in hospital after sex attack on Leeds street
A 21-year-old woman has been treated in hospital after she was attacked and sexually assaulted by a man in Leeds.
The woman was walking on Wyther Lane, in Bramley, when the man pushed her to the floor and repeatedly punched her before subjecting her to a sexual assault.
A 26-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident and has since been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
West Yorkshire Police said the attack was interrupted by a passing motorist who stopped and chased after the attacker.
The victim was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries she received in the attack, at around 6.20am on Friday, and was later released.
Detectives said it was believed a number of vehicles were passing the area at the time and appealed for anyone who saw the attack or who saw the man running off to come forward.
