Wool you believe it? Quickfire alpaca births amaze family
THE Wordsworth family are used to five or six births per year on their alpaca farm - so a recent two hour population explosion had them amazed.
The family's alpaca breeding centre, Newland Alpacas, in the shadow of Drax power station near Selby ticks along nicely, with females producing around a dozen babies annually.
But Kath, Tom and their son Ben could not believe it when three mothers went into labour and then delivered newborns within two hours of each other.
The result was Else, Theo and Tayjo - three healthy alpacas each with the same father.
You can meet the three new arrivals and hear the Wordsworths talk about the frantic birthing process in this Yorkshire Post video.
