Yorkshire as you've never seen it, part two: The Moors from the air
Sit back and enjoy stunning aerial video of the North York Moors and beyond, taken from the cockpit of an RAF Tucano aircraft.
In the second of an exclusive online series, YP videographer Jonathan Walton flies over England's highest pub, the Tan Hill Inn in Swaledale, 1732ft (528m) above sea level, and takes a winding route to the North Yorkshire coast.
His journey takes in the White Horse of Kilburn, Rievaulx Abbey, the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, Goathland and finally Whitby.
The footage was taken from a Tucano based at RAF Linton-on-Ouse, piloted by Squadron Leader Jack Christen of 207 Sqn.
RAF Linton-on-Ouse trains fast jet crews for the Air Force and Navy, but instructors - who often monitor students rather than fly the aircraft - are allocated an hour's free solo flying each month to keep their skills at a peak. The YP's footage was shot on one such flight.
Sqn Ldr Christen said. "On a staff continuation flight there's always a spare seat, so often we take our ground crew for a taste of the high life."
