Class three years ahead of rest
A class from a school in Hull have passed their English GCSEs three years early.
Pupils aged 12 and 13 at Winifred Holtby school studied Dickens’ Great Expectations and Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet for the exams in November, achieving two A grades, nine Bs, 15Cs and four Ds. English teacher Michelle Kermeen said: “I am extremely proud of each and every one of them.” Headteacher Steve Liddle said: “High fliers should be given the chance to excel when they are ready, and that is what we have done with this cohort of exceptionally gifted students.”
