Britons leaders of pack on cards

BRITONS send more greetings cards than consumers in any other country included in a survey by Ofcom.

As the final posting date for Christmas approaches, research by the communications regulator found that more than a third of UK adults (37 per cent) had sent a greetings card, invitation or postcard in the last month – the highest rate in the world. Australia is in second place at 34 per cent, according to Ofcom’s International Communications Market report

Consumers in France were the least likely to send greetings cards with just 17 per cent saying they had done so in the last month. A third of people in China had sent a card in the last month, compared with 19 per cent in Spain.
