Concern grows over missing pensioner

Police in Kirklees are growing increasingly concerned for an 84-year-old man who has been missing since Tuesday.

Bernard Hallas, who suffers from several medical conditions and has no medication with him, was last seen wearing pyjamas on Tuesday night in Huddersfield town centre, having travelled on a bus from Bradley, then to Marsden on another bus, and back again.

The pensioner, of Stutley Grove, Bradley, was last sighted on CCTV at around 11pm in Wakefield Road, Aspley.

He is described as a white man, around 5ft 5in tall, clean-shaven, frail and with wispy, grey hair. He was wearing blue check pyjamas, a brown sheepskin coat, a brown hat and black shoes.

Detective Inspector Philip Benson said: “We are growing ever more concerned about the welfare of Bernard Hallas and we are appealing to members of the public to assist us in finding him. I would urge anyone who does see him to take him into the warmth and contact the police on 999 immediately.”
