Eight injured in burger van blast at Harrogate’s Great Yorkshire Showground

EIGHT people have been injured in a gas explosion which engulfed a burger van today (August 27) at the Great Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate.
Visitors to the National Pony Society’s summer show reported seeing two explosions from the burger van.
The Yorkshire Ambulance Service sent three ambulance to the scene following a call at 11.32am.
A YAS spokeswoman said four people were treated for injuries at the scene and another four were taken to hospital in Harrogate. Their injuries, said to be minor, included scalds and burns.
Fire crews from Harrogate also attended.
A fire service spokesman said that two 19kg propane cylinders had been involved.
