Video: It’s the amazing five year-old recycling bin man
When he grows up five-year-old Finn Greenhouse, from York, doesn’t want to become an astronaut or a racing car driver. Instead he dreams of a career in recycling.
This week he turned five and yesterday York Council gave him a birthday present he’ll never forget. Finn became a recycling collector for the morning and instead of waving to the recycling crew every day at 7am from his bedroom window, he joined them.
Finn was picked up from his home in a recycling lorry and drove him to the council’s Eco Depot in Hazel Court, where he was kitted out in appropriate clothes and got a chance to help out and see the works that goes on.
Yesterday, Finn’s mum, Annie Greenhouse, said of her son: “He has been a budding environmentalist from the age of three.” She said he loved sorting out the family’s recycling.
