Successful sports stars from across the county are set to be recognised at the annual South Yorkshire Sports Awards, to be held in Sheffield later this month.
Rotherham Sailing Club, Wath Cricket Club and the City of Sheffield Diving Club will be fighting it out for the Club of the Year accolade at the awards evening, at the English Institute of Sport in Attercliffe on Wednesday, January 19.
South Yorkshire Sport director Bruce Kelsey said: "The quality of the nominees for our Club of the Year award proves that there is a huge and lasting commitment to sport across South Yorkshire.
"These clubs are truly an inspiration to us all.
"They, and the many others that operate across South Yorkshire, are managed by an army of dedicated volunteers, deliver high quality community-based sports programmes and are a fantastic example of what can be achieved by determination and team work."
Awards will also be given in other categories including Coach of the Year, Contribution to Disability Sport, Contribution to School Sport, Lifetime Achievement and Young Volunteer of the Year.
Tickets for the event, which cost 10 for adults or 5 for children, are available from the South Yorkshire Sport website at www.sysport.co.uk
