A Leeds United fan, banned from matches for punching a goalkeeper mid-game, has reportedly been involved in violence during the Whites pre-season tour.
Aaron Cawley, was jailed for attacking Sheffield Wednesday’s Chris Kirkland during the Yorkshire clubs’ televised clash in 2012, and was reportedly involved in the fighting between at a game in Austria.
Cawley is banned from attending any matches in the country and from travelling abroad to watch England in European or World Cup competitions as a result of his actions.
However, according to The Sun newspaper Cawley was able to a exploit a loophole in the order means police are unable to prevent him travelling to friendly games overseas.
A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman told The Sun: “Officers will work closely with colleagues in West Yorkshire and Gloucestershire to ensure that this matter is responded to appropriately.”
