Body found after blaze in Hull caravan

A MAN’S body was found after firefighters put out a blaze in a caravan on an industrial estate in Hull this morning.

The body was found after emergency services were called to Clyens and Son Monumental Masons on Crowle Street industrial estate, on Hedon Road in the city.

Crews arrived within four minutes to find the caravan ablaze. The flames were quickly put out, but the man, who is believed to have been living there, was found inside.

Humberside Fire and Rescue area manager Nick Granger said: “Initial reports were that one individual was trapped inside the caravan. The fire was extinguished very rapidly.

“One individual was found to be inside the caravan and was confirmed dead at the scene.”

The brigade said firefighters were able to prevent much of the exterior being damaged, but the interior was badly damaged.

An investigation has been launched into the cause of the blaze.
