Boy, eight, seriously hurt in collision with car in Sheffield

AN EIGHT-YEAR-OLD boy was seriously injured after he was involved in collision with a car in the Southey Green area of Sheffield on Saturday night.

South Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which happened just before 11pm on Herries Road, close to the junction with Galsworthy Road

Police said a grey Vauxhall Insignia is believed to have been in collision with an eight-year-old pedestrian.

The boy suffered serious injuries as a result of the incident and currently remains in hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The driver of the car, a man in his thirties, was not injured.

Police are asking anyone who was in the area and who may have seen what happened to contact them on 101, quoting incident number 1186 of 30 April 2016.
