A businessman pleaded not guilty to the sawn-off shotgun murder of a solicitor.
Michael Chudley, 62, is alleged to have walked into James Ward’s office and shot him at his desk in Devizes, Wiltshire, on July 2.
Mr Ward, 58, a married father-of-three from Westbury, Wiltshire, died in hospital on July 22. He was the principal solicitor of the firm where he worked.
Chudley appeared at Winchester Crown Court where he also denied having a sawn-off shotgun with intent to cause murder, possession of a sawn-off shotgun with intent to cause fear of violence to Daphne Courtney and making a threat to kill Daphne Courtney.
He was remanded in custody until December 17. There was no application for bail.
