Celebrity is way forward for MPs, says Dorries

Have your say

The new series of I’m a Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here! began last night with contestants talking about the hardships they face – and politics.

Split into two teams, the celebrities were taken to a barren island and told to race each other to the other side where a helicopter would take the winners off for one last night of luxury.

The defeated team of MP Nadine Dorries, right, which included Colin Baker, Eric Bristow, reality TV star Hugo Taylor and former Pussycat Doll Ashley Roberts, were forced to rough it one night early.

At the camp the next morning, Ms Dorries, who is unaware of the furore over her appearance on the show because contestants are not allowed any contact with the outside world, chatted to Made in Chelsea star Taylor about how politicians communicate.

“That’s one of the reasons why I’m here. Sixteen million people watching this show. That’s how politics should be,” she said.
