ROMANTIC fundraiser Julian Cooke, from Leeds, put his heart on the finish line as he completed a gruelling 10k race before proposing to his girlfriend.
The charity runner popped the question to girlfriend Wendy Lynn after the Leeds Abbey Dash earlier this month.
The 46-year-old revealed a T-shirt with the wedding proposal written on it as he crossed the finish line on November 18.
Julian said: “I told a few people who were running alongside me that I was going to propose at the end so by the time I crossed the finish line I had struck up quite a bit of support.
“I’ve been planning the proposal for quite a while and thought that the Leeds Abbey Dash finishing line was the perfect time to be a real surprise, particularly because we are both from Leeds too and have known each other since primary school.
“Luckily she said ‘yes’!”
Julian has lost almost seven stone since the start of the year and hopes to complete more charity challenges.
