Chesterfield MP red-faced after Twitter account '˜hacked'

Followers of a Labour MP were surprised to receive a message from his Twitter account suggesting he had been transformed into a young female model.

A picture of the scantily-clad woman was sent out under the name of Chesterfield MP Toby Perkins with the message “I love to show my body on here”.

But Mr Perkins was swift to reassure followers that the post was not the result of a radical change in image, but was down to his account being hacked.

Soon after the message’s appearance, a post was sent out by the real Toby Perkins to say: “Apologies for brief break in service, I believe my (temporarily hacked) Twitter account now back in safe hands.”

The MP later said he had “no idea how it happened”.

But it seemed some of his followers saw the funny side, with one hailing it as “the comic Twitter event of the day” and another responding: “And here’s me thinking you’d found one hell of a plastic surgeon...”
