Cricket latest: Yorkshire forge ahead against Kent
YORKSHIRE moved to 305-5 at tea on the second day of the County Championship match against Kent at Scarborough.
Jacques Rudolph was finally dismissed for 146, playing-on to Robbie Joseph following a splendid innings that was warmly appreciated by the festival crowd.
Rudolph's innings, made from 221 balls with 21 fours and a six, has been the mainstay of the Yorkshire total after they dismissed Kent for 227 on the opening day.
Yorkshire resumed on 206-2 after lunch, Anthony McGrath going on to 52 before he edged a wide one from Ryan McLaren to wicketkeeper Geraint Jones.
Rudolph and McGrath added 176 for the third-wicket in 55 overs, while Rudolph passed 1,000 Championship runs for the season during the course of his innings.
The other batsman to fall during the afternoon session was Gerard Brophy, who was caught at second slip by Martin van Jaarsveld off Darren Stevens for 14.
Adam Lyth is unbeaten on 42 at the break along with Adil Rashid, who has yet to score.
