Boy sexually assaulted woman in South Yorkshire

POLICE have released an e-fit of a boy they would like to speak to in connection with a reported sexual assault in Sheffield.

A boy aged around 16 asked the 19-year-old woman for directions before sexually assaulting her as she walked along the path behind Station Road in Halfway, Sheffield.

The woman then ran off and the boy attempted to chase her before making off towards Killamarsh.

The incident happened just after 3.30pm on Friday April 14, but police only released details today. (Mon May 22)

The boy has been described as around 16-years-old with dark brown hair, of a small build and to have been wearing a navy blue Adidas jacket and dark tracksuit bottoms.

Sergeant Jon Revill of South Yorkshire Police, said: “This has caused a lot distress to the woman, who had her bottom touched and was chased by the boy who had been walking behind her, and I would like to reassure everyone that we are thoroughly investigating this report and have increased local patrols in the area.

“I am urging anyone who has any information that may be able to assist us with our investigation to please get in touch and report it to police.”

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101, quoting incident number 735 of 14 April.
