Police have released an e-fit image of a man believed to have sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl in Doncaster.

The victim was walking along Frenchgate in Doncaster town centre when an unknown man approached her during October half term last year, sometime between Saturday October 24 and Monday November 2.

The man asked her to walk with him to West Laith Gate before allegedly sexually assaulting her and then leaving the scene.

South Yorkshire Police are appealing for information to help them to identify the man.

Detective Constable Julie Black, the investigating officer, said: “The young girl is understandably effected by this highly traumatic incident and came forward in December to report what had happened.

“Extensive enquiries to try and trace the suspect have since been carried out and we are now appealing for your help to try and identify the man in this e-fit image.

“The victim continues to receive support from specialist officers and I would like to commend her for having the courage to come forward and tell us what happened.”

Call police on 101, quoting incident number 1008 of 16 December 2015, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
