Mr Ali, a PC with South Yorkshire police, was hit by Khan’s Vauxhall Corsa on January 28, 2015 and died on February 6.

Khan had previously denied causing his death by driving without due care and attention.

The charge was changed today (Thurs) to causing death by careless driving.

Khan, of Darnall, Sheffield, was granted unconditional bail and the trial was scheduled for February next year.
