Amanda Spencer, 26, befriended the girl when she was about 15 years old, buying her clothes, doing her hair and offering her somewhere to stay, Sheffield Crown Court heard.

But Spencer, who is already serving a 12-year sentence for child prostitution offences following a previous trial, soon began taking her to men’s homes for sex in return for cash after plying her with alcohol and using violence against her.

A jury heard how the defendant prostituted the teenager to various men over a four-month period with police estimating she had visited more than 50 homes.

Prosecutor Peter Hampton said at the beginning of the trial: “Oh each occasion, (the girl) was plied with alcohol and was fearful that Amanda would be violent towards her. She had been violent to her in the past.

“On each occasion Amanda would be paid money.”

Spencer stormed out of the dock after she was convicted on Monday, marching into the cell area behind the court, saying “I’m going, me.”

The case could not be reported until Wednesday for legal reasons.

Spencer was given a 12-year sentence in 2014 after she was found guilty of 16 charges relating to child prostitution after a two-month trial at the same court. She is now facing a lengthy further jail term when she is sentenced again next month.

Spencer had been on trial for seven weeks along with a number of men, brothers Christopher, Matthew and Shane Whiteley and Taleb Bapir.

The defendants were charged with a range of offences relating to nine women from when they were teenage girls.

Spencer, formerly of Canklow Road, Rotherham, was found guilty of four counts of arranging child prostitution in relation to one of the girls.

She was cleared of a number of charges relating to a second complainant.

Christopher Whiteley, 23, of Weakland Crescent, Hackenthorpe, Sheffield, was found guilty of raping two victims, conspiracy to cause or incite child prostitution in relation to another as well as sexually assaulting a fourth. He was cleared of 10 other charges.

Shane Whiteley, 30, and Matthew Whiteley, 25, both of Weakland Crescent, Hackenthorpe, Sheffield, were found guilty of conspiracy to cause or incite child prostitution. Both were also cleared of a number of other offences.

Taleb Bapir, 39, of Verdon Street, Sheffield, was found guilty of one count of rape.

Temporary Detective Chief Inspector Martin Tate said: “Between 2005 and 2011, these individuals targeted, groomed and exploited vulnerable girls for sexual gratification.

“The victims’ lives were damaged and childhoods stolen by this group’s heinous crimes.”

Mr Tate said: “Not one of those convicted accepted responsibility for their horrific crimes, meaning the victims have had to recount in detail before a jury the awful and upsetting abuse they were subjected to.”

Jayne Ludlam, Executive Director of Children, Young People and Families at Sheffield City Council, said: “Today I want to commend the bravery of the young women involved in this case, who spoke out against the exploitation that they suffered and then had to re-live it all again in court. It sends a clear message to anyone involved in the sexual exploitation of vulnerable young people - you will be identified, pursued and prosecuted.”

All those convicted will be sentenced on April 28.

The jury of seven men and five women were unable to reach verdicts on a number of counts and the Whiteley brothers are facing retrials on some of the charges.
