Man charged with attempted murder after Sheffield shooting

A 23-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder after a man in his 60s was shot in his home in Sheffield.

Jonathan McGregor, of Paper Mill Road, Sheffield, has also been charged with aggravated burglary after the incident in the Shiregreen area of the city on Monday June 6 at around 2.45am.

South Yorkshire Police were called to the scene after a house was broken into and the occupant sustained injuries “consistent with a firearms discharge”.

A 25-year-old man also arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and aggravated burglary has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
