Man left with serious injuries after fight outside Hull pub

Police were called to the scene outside the Malt Shovel Hotel on Anlaby Road shortly after 11.30pm to reports of an incident between two men.

A 57-year-old man was taken to Hull Royal Infirmary with serious head injuries, police have confirmed, while a 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault. He remained in custody this morning.

Police remain at the scene as investigations continue and are now appealing for any witnesses to get in touch.
