Man remains in critical condition after New Year's Day attack in York

North Yorkshire Police today said the 50-year-old victim remained in a stable but critical condition in hospital.

He was found with injuries to his head and face after an incident in the Union Terrace area of the city at about 5pm on January 1.

Officers want to hear from anyone who was in the area around that time or who has any information which could assist the investigation.
