Three men believed to be carrying machetes and a hammer have stormed a Bradford takeaway.

The group, who were all wearing balaclavas, entered the rear of the Great Horton Road premises, which backs on to Ewart Street, and demanded money on Sunday at around 11pm.

They ordered staff to lie on the floor while they searched the takeaway, took a quantity of cash and escaped back on to Ewart Street. Nobody was injured.

West Yorkshire Police has launched an appeal for information in a bid to find the men. They were all described as black men in dark tracksuits and gloves.

Detective Constable Andrew McManus, of Bradford District CID, said: “It is possible somebody would have seen these men acting suspiciously around the premises in the time leading up to the robbery or just after, so I would ask anyone with information to contact Bradford District CID.”

Witnesses should call police on 101, quoting crime reference 13160133087, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
