Racial abuse hurled at shop worker during attack in Hull

A shopkeeper has been racially abused, assaulted and spat at during an attack in Hull.

Humberside Police were called after a man spat at and made racist comments towards a 41-year-old member of staff at a newsagents in Newland Avenue on July 28 between 12noon and 12.10pm.

He reportedly hurled the abuse during a scuffle with the worker after being asked to leave.

The suspect later returned with another man and assaulted the shopkeeper, before throwing a case of beer on the floor.

The victim sustained a small cut to his nose.

Police have released a CCTV image of two men they would like to speak to about the incident.
