Video: Raiders with explosives rip off front of Bradford Post Office to get at cash machine

RAIDERS using explosives blew open the entire frontage of a Bradford Post Office today as they attempted to raid a cash machine.

Neighbours reported hearing a loud bang and there were reports of a silver Audi being driven away, as the raiders escaped with an unknown amount of cash.

The explosion caused structural damage to the building, with occupants of surrounding flats evacuated. Parts of Higher Coach Road in the lower Baildon area, near Roberts Park and Titus Salt School, remained cordoned off today.

One resident said he had been told that a bomb had been thrown into the Post Office in an attempt to blow the cash machine off the wall.

A Post Office spokesman said: “Post Office can confirm there was an ATM robbery at Coach Road Post Office overnight.

“The people who run our Post Office branches provide important services to local communities. Any robbery or attempted robbery is very traumatic for the victims and we will be supporting the police in their efforts to apprehend those responsible.”
