DELOITTE, the business advisory firm, has appointed a new senior tax manager to its private client team within the Yorkshire and North East practice.
Peter Cass joins Deloitte with 18 years’ experience of advising professional service firms on mergers, demergers, partnership disputes, conversion to LLP as well as incorporation.
Mr Cass joins the firm from RSM Tenon where he was the national head of its professional practices team.
Ms Cass said: “The opportunity to join the pre-eminent adviser to the sector was too good to refuse and I look forward to working with the team in growing our client base across the North region.”
Elsewhere, housing solutions specialist Lovell has appointed William Kay as commercial director for its national repairs and maintenance business which has its head office in Don Road, Sheffield. Mr Kay joins Lovell from Kier Group where he was commercial director for Kier Services –maintenance.
Phil Brookes, managing director of the Lovell repairs and maintenance business, said: “William is a significant addition to our national team. During 25 years in the construction and services industry, he has delivered a number of industry-leading, award-winning projects.”
Meanwhile, Well Met Conferencing has announced the appointment of two new conference and events officers, Emma Gough and Clare Vidler.
Ms Vidler joins Well Met from conference and special events venue The Leeds Club, where she was general manager with specific responsibility for private and corporate events.
Ms Gough joins the team from luxury hotel Rudding Park in Harrogate, where she was wedding and events co-ordinator.
The Queens Hotel in Leeds has appointed Jacquie Hanson as general manager.
She has worked in the hospitality industry for 30 years, including Macdonald, Mercure and Intercontinental Hotels
Financial recruitment specialist Sharp Consultancy has announced the promotion of Jamie Caulfield to regional director.
Mr Caulfield joined Sharp Consultancy in 2005 as a researcher and following a series of promotions he was appointed to the position of regional manager for the Sheffield office in 2010.
In his new role, he will increase his management responsibilities and in addition to driving forward business in Sheffield, he will play a significant role in Sharp’s Leeds office.
Elsewhere, Savills York has appointed Tom Whitehead as associate director in its rural team.
Mr Whitehead will specialise in rural agency, valuations and rural professional work and will be based at the firm’s Micklegate office.
He has 10 years of experience in rural property and joins from Carter Jonas where he worked for six years.
Rebuildingsociety.com, the Leeds-based peer-to-peer lending platform, has appointed Rick Hyland as business development manager for the Yorkshire region.
Mr Hyland will be responsible for growing rebuildingsociety.com’s growing network amongst Yorkshire-based businesses and lenders.
He joins the Leeds-based firm from recruitment agency Reed where he was a senior consultant.
