Detectives granted extension to question man, 18, over death of Rotherham teenager Leonne Weeks

Detectives investigating the death of a teenager in Rotherham have been granted an extension to question an 18-year-old man.

The body of Leonne Weeks, 16, was found by members of the public at around 11am on Monday, on a pathway near Lordens Hill, Dinnington.

A man was arrested on suspicion of murder on Monday in connection with her death.

And detectives were today granted an extension by magistrates to hold the 18-year-old for a further 24 hours.

A 26-year-old woman arrested on Tuesday January, on suspicion of assisting an offender, has been bailed pending further enquiries.
