A MURDER investigation is underway in Bradford after the bodies of a man and a woman in their 40s were found at a flat in the city.
West Yorkshire Police say officers were called to a property in Sawrey Place, less than a mile from the city centre, at 3.41pm yesterday after reports of a man with serious injuries.
A man in his 40s was found dead at the scene, and during a search of the flat a woman with serious injuries was found who was also pronounced dead.
Detectives believe the deaths are linked and are treating both as suspicious.
A 37-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody today. The two victims and the suspect are understood to be known to each other.
Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Chief Inspector Jim Dunkerley, said: “Enquiries into this incident are still at an early stage, and I would like anyone who heard or saw anything suspicious in the Sawrey Place area late on Saturday night or into the early hours of Sunday to come forward.
“Neighbourhood Policing Teams are conducting reassurance patrols and enquiries are ongoing by detectives to both identify the victims and further clarify the circumstances of the incident.”
