Beer festival to pull in school funds

A BEER festival is to be held to raise funds for a North Yorkshire village school.

The event in Carleton Village Hall, near Skipton, will be held over Easter weekend between April 14 and 16 and will include 14 Yorkshire beers all brewed within 20 miles.

The organisers are also looking for sponsors who will pay £100 for a barrel of beer or £50 for half a barrel which will then display their name.

Carleton Primary headteacher Duggie Speight said: “The funds raised will make a real difference as we continue to deliver an enriching education in a stimulating school environment, in the face of ever-tightening budget controls. The staff and students would be extremely grateful for sponsorship.”
