THE DUKE of York will present 16 students and recent graduates from universities across Yorkshire with an award marking the success of their own start-up businesses.
The 10 businesses, created by young entrepreneurs, were chosen to represent each of the 10 universities in Yorkshire. Each business will receive The Duke of York Young Entrepreneur Award at an event on Thursday.
The presentation will take place at the 3M Buckley Innovation Centre at the University of Huddersfield, where the Duke is patron.
The university held the title of the Entrepreneurial University of the Year in 2013 and is currently the University of the Year.
Huddersfield University’s vice chancellor, Prof Bob Cyan, said:“The university places entrepreneurship, innovation and business engagement at the heart of its mission and this enthusiasm is echoed by His Royal Highness.
“This will be a special day for the young people receiving awards and we delighted to welcome His Royal Highness to the campus, as our Patron, to present them.”
