SHOWERY rain is expected across Yorkshire in the coming days - but forecasters predict a move towards drier conditions overall.

Here is your guide to the few days ahead...

LEEDS...

Today:

Mainly cloudy with further outbreaks of showery rain, especially near coasts. Places away from coasts will see fewer showers with some bright spells possible. Feeling chilly, especially near coasts with strong southeasterly winds, but winds lighter inland. Maximum Temperature 7°C.

Tonight:

A chilly evening and night with broken cloud. Perhaps becoming dry for a time, then further outbreaks of rain later in night. Southeasterly winds continuing strong near coasts. Minimum Temperature 4°C.

Thursday:

Cloudy with occasionally heavy rain through the day, but becoming drier, brighter later with a few showers, these turning wintry over northern Pennines. Feeling increasingly chilly as westerly winds increase. Maximum Temperature 7°C.

Outlook for Friday to Sunday:

A frosty, foggy start is possible on Friday. Occasionally heavy showers are expected later Friday, and on Saturday with brisk winds. Occasional showers possible on Sunday with some bright spells.
