THE family of a missing Grimsby man is hoping for information as the anniversary of his disappearance approaches.
Retired businessman Michael Lee made his last phone call on Monday March 7 last year – to cancel a hair appointment and the newspapers. He has not been seen or heard of since. Police think the keen golfer took his blue Mercedes C220.
Brother John Lee said they had heard “absolutely nothing”.
He said: “Any leads that the police have looked at have led to nothing. One eventually has to come to accept the situation.
“The police have done a great job, as far as one can tell they have tried to do absolutely everything and got no result.
“One just doesn’t know what to think really, there’s been no feedback, nothing from anywhere.
“We knew he wasn’t too well, we were aware of that, and more than that one can’t say.”
Missing persons officer Bev Pattinson said exhaustive searches, including an appeal in the Lake District, which he had visited, had no result
She said: “We feel it is closer to home. Has someone assisted him in storing the vehicle, has someone assisted him in disappearing?”
She described the bachelor as a very private man with a lot of close friends.
“He seems to have had a very comfortable life but he was struggling with the belief that he was poorly,” she added.
