A leading sports media company has commissioned a team of Yorkshire-based artists to create life size paintings of footballing legends Gianfranco Zola and Dennis Bergkamp.

Harrogate firm Last Man Projects, who create art packages for sport industries, are set to deliver the two paintings on canvas for Bleacher Report’s new offices in Covent Garden, central London.

The canvasses will be installed in meetings rooms named after the duo, considered by many to be amongst the finest foreign players to have graced English football.

The artworks were created by Last Man’s in-house artists The Studio of Ezra, a northern-based artist collective who say their work is most often described as “21st Century Pop”.

They created the artworks by hand, using a combination of silkscreen, stencil spray-paint and acrylic techniques.

American digital media company Bleacher Report has an office in London, but is based in San Francisco and covers hundreds of teams and sports around the world.

Alex Dunn, a director of Last Man Projects, said: “It was great to work with Bleacher Report on this project. As one of the widest read and most popular sports websites it was a pleasure to be involved.”

Last Man’s recent projects include work with Franco Baresi’s AC Milan Soccer Camp and Le Coq Sportif.
