POLICE today launched a new appeal for witnesses after a group of men verbally abused a woman on board a train between Leeds and Huddersfield.
Investigators released images of men they would like to speak to in connection with the incident, which took place between 8.30pm and 9pm on Friday, 29 November.
Pc Penny Halliwell from British Transport Police said: “The victim, a 23-year-old woman from Durham, was sat alone in the first class carriage of the service when she was approached and surrounded by four men.
“The men then subjected the victim to explicit and lewd verbal abuse. One of the men then grabbed her knee and threw a wet paper bag in her face.”
