STARS of screens big and small will descend upon Sheffield’s second Film and Comic Con next weekend.
Freddy Kruger actor Robert Englund, star of Nightmare on Elm Street and Kenny Baker and Billy Dee Williams from Star Wars are just some of the big names expected to draw fans to the event at Sheffield Arena on Saturday August 15 and Sunday August 16.
Also confirmed for the event are Doctor Who stars Colin Baker, Nicola Bryant, John Leven and, Peter Purves; Torchwood’s Gareth David-Lloyd and Michael Biehn from Aliens and Terminator.
Some of the props made famous in iconic film and televisions series will also be there - including a DeLorean from Back to the Future and the Iron Throne from Game of Thrones.
Last year’s event saw visitors get into the Comic Con spirit complete with Cosplay, and this year’s event will be no different, with prizes on offer for the best creations. There will be panel session, hundreds of memorabilia stalls, comic creation master classes and the chance to meet artists and actors.
The 2014 event was the first Sheffield Comic Con and the response was so positive planning for this year’s event began straight away. Event promoter Jason Joiner said: “Sheffield film and TV fans have shown they really wanted this. It’s the biggest venue in Sheffield. We can’t go bigger”.
