Friends make shopping smarter their business

It's a common problem among busy working women. You want to look stylish, you love clothes, but you don't have time to shop for them.

Enter Businesswardrobe.com, a website that aims to provide suitably serious yet fashionable clothes for the time-strapped.

It's the idea of Huddersfield businesswoman Jane Dawson who, over her years as a high-flying executive specialising in sales and marketing, had struggled to find stylish, contemporary clothing for business, available at times that suited her busy lifestyle.

Last year she teamed up with womenswear retailer Claire Crabtree, and commercial director Paul Hebden, to create the online company to meet the clothing needs and wants of today's working woman.

Jane said: "I've always had a passion for shopping and taking pride in my appearance but as you move further up the career ladder and start a family it becomes increasingly difficult to find the time to go shopping. So when I met Claire and realised we were both on the same wavelength, something just clicked and we realised that we wouldn't be the only working women who felt like this. Even those women who are able to snatch a few hours often struggle on the high street so the concept for Business Wardrobe came from two working mums wanting to make life easier for other professional women."

With Paul, Jane and Claire have spent a year travelling around Europe to find contemporary designers and top quality producers.

The costs of suits varies from between 120-300, depending on styles. All products are available in sizes 8-18. Customers so far are women with ages ranging from 28-50, with a core focus on ages 35-45.
