FT: Hull City 1 Manchester United 3

HULL CITY remain in the Premier League's bottom three after slipping to defeat to reigning champions Manchester United at the KC Stadium.

In an action-packed encounter, Hull - who dropped back into the relegation zone following Saturday's games - could have taken the lead when Stephen Hunt dragged his shot across goal.

Moments later Rafael missed a great chance to give the visitors the lead but his shot was well saved by Boaz Myhill.

Then on the stroke of half-time Wayne Rooney converted Darren Fletcher's right-wing cross tp give United the half-time lead.

Craig Fagan equalised from the penalty spot shortly before the hour mark when Rafael fouled Jozy Altidore after Rooney had surrendered possession.

But the England striker atoned moments later, forcing an own-goal from Andy Dawson before setting up a simple tap-in for Dimitar Berbatov in the 82nd minute.

United cut Chelsea's lead at the top to just two points thanks to the win.
