DETECTIVES in Scotland investigating a gangland kneecapping and a double abduction have visited a house in Barnsley in the hunt for the attackers, it has been revealed.

A man, 45, was shot in the knees and left in East Kilbride, Lanarkshire in March and a week later two men were abducted in Glasgow.

Police believe the incidents, two of which are being treated as attempted murder, could be linked.

Officers from Police Scotland’s Major Investigation team focused their inquiries on a bungalow in the Dodworth area of Barnsley earlier this month.

Detective Chief Inspector Gary Boyd said: “Enquires so far have revealed that an address in Barnsley may be of significance in light of these enquiries which are ongoing at present.”

No arrests have been made.
