A motorist of 63 has spoken of his surprise after discovering his Del Boy van helps him attract women.
The replica of Derek Trotter’s three-wheeled Reliant Regal from the TV show Only Fools and Horses is owned by Geoff Bostock, 63, who says he’s “had a lot of fun” using it to attract female attention.
Father-of-six Mr Bostock, from Bradford, said: “It does seem to attract quite a lot of attention, for example there was one occasion where I pulled into a petrol station and girls were draping themselves across the bonnet.
“I’m always being asked for photographs and getting raised eyebrows and horns honked at me on the roads.
“I bought the van off a bloke in the pub who bought and sold motors. It was a Christmas present to myself although I might have been a bit drunk at the time.
“My father is a huge fan of the show, so he thinks it’s great.
“I mainly use it to do my shopping, but I’ve taken it to the pub a few times and I’ve even been up to the coast on my holidays in it.
“A lot of people stare and point when I’m out and about.”
Retired truck engineer Mr Bostock has owned the novelty vehicle, which comes complete with Del Boy, Rodney and Uncle Albert masks, since Christmas 2012 but is now looking to sell it on eBay after the jokes were starting to “wear a bit thin”.
The original van used in the comedy series went on sale in January 2013 for £17,500, although Geoff is currently asking for a more modest £950, including tax until the end of the month and an MOT until November.
