Growing accountancy firm makes senior appointments

A growing accountancy firm has announced two senior appointments in its Leeds office.

Rory Goldthorpe has been named audit director at Hentons. He joins from rival accountants BDO, with a specialism in small and medium-sized enterprises.

Wendy Hargill has been promoted to practice manager for the city’s office. She previously spent three years as financial controller at the company.

Ms Hargill will now take responsibility for operational management of the firm, finance and human resources.

The appointments are the latest growth announcements from Hentons. The firm recently revealed plans to expand its Sheffield office and wealth management teams.

Property services company DTZ has named Louise Slevin as surveyor in its Leeds office.

Ms Slevin previously spent seven years at Wm Morrison Supermarkets, where she was responsible for estate management across the North of England.

She will specialise in retail asset management at DTZ, dealing with shopping centre and high street retail investment properties.

Corporate solicitors Shulman has named Ryan Robinson as head of debt recovery services.

Mr Robinson joins the law firm from Allied Irish Bank, where he was lead practitioner for its Arrears Support Unit.

He previously worked as head of Law of Property Act receiver (LPA), possession and unsecured debt management at Bradford & Bingley successor, UKAR, and director of collections and legal services at P&A Group.

APB Doncaster has appointed Nick Young as operation manager at its South Yorkshire site.

Mr Young joins the business with 25 years’ experience in the food processing industry across the world.

He will be responsible for maintaining quality manufacturing and developing efficiency, sustainability and ethical initiatives and procedures.

APB Doncaster produces meat brands for UK retailers as part of the wider APB Food Group. It employs more than 850 people in the Doncaster area and recently celebrated its 10th anniversary.
