Prince Harry swapped stories about serving in Afghanistan when he met troops yesterday at RAF Honington, near Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk.

The Prince, 27, who is known as Captain Wales in the Army Air Corps, was appointed Honorary Air Commandant of the RAF base in October 2008, He looked at military kit including a quad bike, sniper rifles, camouflage, tanks, machine guns and mortars after presenting service commendations to RAF personnel.

The Prince talked about communications equipment he used on his 10-week tour of Afghanistan in 2007-08 and told a corporal: “There’s so much to remember.”
