Huddersfield man charged with manslaughter over deaths of boys in fire
A Huddersfield man has been charged in connection with a house fire in which two children died last year.
Kamal Bains, 50 from Birkby, will appear before Kirklees Magistrates’ Court next Friday after being charged with two counts of gross negligence manslaughter.
Three-year-old Logan Taylor and his brother Jake Casey, two, died in the fire on Alder Street, Huddersfield on Saturday, February 20, 2016.
The fire has been the subject of an investigation by Huddersfield CID and West Yorkshire Police’s Homicide and Major Enquiry Team since.
