REPRESENTATIVES of nearly 20 Humber businesses working in the offshore wind supply chain are to visit Denmark this week on a fact-finding trade mission.
In a visit organised by Team Humber Marine Alliance and Enterprise Europe Network, the delegation will tour the production facilities of Siemens Wind Power in Brande and Energy Metropolis Esbjerg, including its offshore wind harbour.
Mark O’Reilly, director and chairman of the alliance, said: “There is a really good mix of Humber companies coming with us, ranging from logistics to offshore wind support vessels to survival clothing.
“We will hear from Siemens about its Brande offshore wind facilities and how its supply chains work, and it is also a great opportunity to network with other companies within the Danish and Norwegian offshore wind industry.”
It is hoped Siemens will play a key role in establishing the Humber as the UK’s renewables hub by investing in a new factory in Hull.
