A TIMELINE of royal history has been reproduced for a special Diamond Jubilee series of stamps.
Five stamps were released by the Royal Mail yesterday, showing portraits of the monarchs who have reigned from the early part of the 20th century.
The Kings and Queens series, which has shown the 600-year royal journey over the past four years, will conclude with the launch of House of Windsor and Saxe-Coburg-Gotha stamps.
The collection includes Edward VII on the 1st class stamp, and George V on the 68p stamp.
The set also includes a portrait of the Queen on the £1.10 stamp.
Royal Mail will release another four stamps, featuring Scott’s South Pole expedition, Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother’s tour of bomb-damaged London during the Second World War, the line-up of England’s famous World Cup-winning team from 1966, and the 1994 opening of the Channel Tunnel.
